One angry MA and the irritating monday...

So, why is it that people in other offices can't seem to pull it together? Maybe i ask too much? All i wanted was some freaking test results!!! New pt, (happens to be the last pt of the day) comes in for infertility, no problem, in out (no pun intend :-) ) it's usually a 20 minute consult with the intent of testing ... Ok no, see thats not what happened in this case. First, dr was 45 mins late due to a consult at a hospital  30 mins away, then since this pt was new they have about 20 min of new pt papers to fill out. Of course this guy forgets his test results, which is typical, but then he can't remember the name of neither the dr nor the facility as to where the testing had been done. He calls his wife, wife doesn't answer, he calls her work, shes not there, i finally get a phone call from his wife saying where they had he testing done... Great, grand , wonderful!!! I call the facility thats when i get angry Here is how the convo went: 

ME: HI this is Uro ma from Dr urologys office, i am in need of this new pts test results as he is here in OUR office RIGHT NOW. 

INCOMPETENT: Sure what did the new pt have done? 

ME: Testosterone free and total, beta hcg, and a Semen analysis 

INCOMPETENT: A what?

ME : Semen analysis!

INCOMPETENT:Urinalysis? we don't do those here!

ME: NO, Semen, S-E-M-E-N 

INCOMPETENT: Oh, wait what's his name?

For the love of god i wanted to kill her!!

so i explain again she asks for the fax number, and i think we are all set. Ok faxing here in 5 mins tops she says....

15 minutes later....no fax and one angry me on the phone again...

ME: Hi this is URO MA from Dr urologys office AGAIN, have you faxed those results yet?

INCOMPETENT: Oh! you needed this now???

She has to be joking!! Dr looks at me, i look at him and he says "never mind obviously, we aren't going to get them today!!" I laugh and hang up the phone... And because of that Dr Urology is late for his 3:30 pm Trans Obturator Sling procedure waiting for him upstairs...

I love my job, i really do, i just hate when people are not responsible, it happens and i understand that but, jeez.... So, how was your day?
